Three illustrative money trails
A property seller may need to explain ownership of the property, the sale, settlement proceeds and the transfer into the account proposed to fund the investment. A settlement record explains one part of that history; it does not automatically establish every earlier source.
A salaried professional may need to connect employment earnings, tax records where relevant, accumulated savings and later account transfers. Funds moved among several accounts require an explanation of the connections rather than a single final balance screenshot.
A portfolio investor may need to identify account ownership, the assets sold, the proceeds received and the subsequent transfer. A brokerage statement and a bank statement answer different questions.
Money-trail preparation diagrams
- Property sale → ownership proof → sale/settlement → receiving account → proposed funding account
- Employment → earnings/tax records → savings → account transfers → funding account
- Portfolio → account ownership → sale of assets → proceeds → transfer to funding account
Preparation suggestions only, not a published mandatory checklist.
Example: the missing account link
Hypothetical scenario: an applicant sells an apartment and moves the proceeds through two banks before consolidating them. The applicant retains the sale agreement and final account balance but has not kept the statement for the intermediate account.
The issue is the gap between the sale and the proposed funding account. Preparing a chronological record can reveal the missing statement before an official checklist or adviser review requires it.
Gifts, digital assets and mixed sources
A gift introduces questions about both donor and recipient. Digital-asset proceeds introduce acquisition, wallet, exchange and conversion questions. Neither a lawful gift nor exchange conversion proves acceptance under unpublished program standards.
Do not describe cash, crypto, third-party payments or a company account as approved funding methods without an official basis. Ask how the final rules treat the specific structure.
The business-owner page distinguishes company wealth from personal capital. The application page explains where review occurs.
