Argentina citizenship by investment lawyer: choosing counsel

An Argentina citizenship by investment lawyer should be able to explain the legal framework, current operational instructions and the limits of what can be promised. Choosing counsel requires verifying the person who will do the work, not just the website promoting the program.

This page explains how to evaluate legal assistance. An inquiry through this website does not establish an attorney-client relationship or submit a government application.

Example: a guaranteed 30-day offer

Hypothetical scenario: an adviser says a US$350,000 payment guarantees citizenship within 30 business days and requests an immediate transfer.

The applicant should ask for the official payment procedure and challenge both promises. Decree 524's decision period begins when Migration receives APCI's report. It is not a complete processing guarantee. A financial contribution also does not eliminate assessment or establish approval.

See the claim/evidence checklist table below.

Adviser claim and evidence checklist
Claim or questionEvidence to request
"Applications are open"Current official submission instructions
"Citizenship in 30 days"Exact legal provision and explanation of its starting point
"This payment qualifies"Official route, recipient and payment procedure
"We are your lawyers"Named counsel, professional registration and engagement terms
"All legal issues are resolved"Current decisions and a reasoned explanation of their effect

Verify professional registration

Ask for full name, registration details and jurisdiction of practice. For counsel registered in Capital Federal, the CPACF directory provides a verification starting point. Elsewhere, use the relevant professional authority. Registration is a basic check, not proof of program expertise or guaranteed suitability.

Confirm whether you are engaging a lawyer, an adviser or a referral business. Those roles should not be blurred.

Request written engagement terms

Ask who handles the application, what fees cover and which third-party expenses remain. Clarify document review, translations, source-of-funds assistance, conflicts, communication, refunds and what happens if operational rules change.

A useful first consultation should address your actual situation. Bring household details and a description of the funding source rather than sending sensitive documents through an unverified public form.

Use the Argentina CBI program status page and funding examples to prepare questions.

Ask about finding Argentine counsel

This submits an inquiry through our register-interest form. It does not enroll you in automated government alerts, create an attorney-client relationship, or file an application with Argentine authorities.
